Senior CPC official meets Japanese delegation

Li Yuanchao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with a delegation of young Japanese leaders Monday.
The 55-member delegation is visiting China at the invitation of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Li, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of the exchange program for young leaders of China and Japan, which was launched 11 years ago.
Youth represent the future, Li said, adding that the sound development of Sino-Japanese relations depends on friendship between the younger generations of both countries.
He said China hopes to enhance cooperation with Japan to promote exchange between both nations' young officials.
He expressed hope young officials from China and Japan will remember history and look to the future while contributing to the long-term development of China-Japan relations.
Takashi Shiraishi, head of the delegation, said he will push forward exchange programs between young officials from both nations and work for Japan-China friendship.
The delegation will visit Beijing, Tianjin and central China's Hunan Province between Sept. 5 and 12.
