The opening ceremony of the 8th Beijing CBD International Business Festival was held at China World Exhibition Hall in Beijing on Wednesday morning.
Zhang Huaixi, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Wang Qishan, Mayor of Beijing Municipality, Long Yongtu, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia, and Chen Gang, secretary of Chaoyang District Committee of the CPC were present at the opening ceremony, together with some other government officials, foreign Ambassadors to China, multinational leaders, and representatives of Friend Cities and business chambers.
An exhibition with the theme of "Olympics: Environment and Development" was launched at the same venue right after the opening ceremony.
Focusing on the Olympic environment, the exhibition is divided into three parts: Olympic environment, business opportunities and Olympic services. Through pictures, videos, mini models, on-spot shows, and interaction activities, it displays the district's "green" experience and achievements, including thriving modern business, booming service industry and a harmonious life among communities, schools, etc.
The Olympic Services part is presented through four sub-sessions: "Special Cuisine", "Fashion Shopping", "Business Travel" and "Sports & Entertainment". It highlights diversity and humanity. On the exhibition of "Humanized Olympics entering Chaoyang", Chinese folk arts are showcased in which the public's enthusiasm for the Olympic Games is expressed.
The festival lasting from Sep.12th to 15th will cover a series of forums and business culture activities, including Beijing CBD International Forum, 2007 Beijing Multinational Leaders Summit, International Business Travel Industry Summit, International Business Auto Expo, Ambassadors' Spouses Day and etc.
