The "2007 Beijing International Seminar on Mergers and Acquisitions" on December 24th revealed that by October 2007, 201 of Fortune 500 enterprises made investments in Beijing with a total of 448 investment projects. According to the Ministry of Commerce, 20 multinational enterprises have established headquarters in Beijing.

These foreign enterprises in Beijing are leaders in their industry, and operate with advanced technology.

From January to October this year, Beijing consumed 4.28 billion US dollars of foreign investment – of which 82 percent went into tertiary industries. It is expected that in the next few years the merging of foreign investors will gradually replace "green investment" to become the main form of foreign capital utilization in Beijing.
