Vice Minister of Commerce Yi Xiaozhun said at the inaugural ceremony of China’s Service Trade Association on the 30th, that service trade is an important part of global trade. However, when comparing the trade of goods, there is a great gap between service trade and the service industry in China; and there is great potential for development.
Wei Jiafu, president of China's Service Trade Association and COSCO President, said that China's service trade association has 94 members from industries including tourism, maritime transport, construction, finance and insurance, patent licensing, outsourcing of services, information services, technology imports, and foreign cultural trade. This association covers the most areas of industry among domestic industrial associations.
Yi Xiaozhun pointed out three expectations for China's Service Trade Association: The first is to be enterprise-oriented, providing enterprises with good services; second, we should be the bridge and link between the government and enterprises; third, service trade enterprises must strengthen their self-service capabilities.
