China has made major achievements in the area of gold perambulation in 2007; and uncovered five major deposits.

According to The China Geological Survey Bureau, these five large gold deposits are: the Gangdise Xiongcun copper-gold deposit; the eastern Kunlun Mountains Qinghai Dachang gold deposit; the Yangshan gold deposit in Gannan, in Qinling, Gansu Province; the Shizhuang gold deposit in Laizhou City, Shandong Province; and the Baolun gold deposit in Hainan.

According to reports, the Gangdise Xiongcun copper-gold deposit was independently explored by Canada's Tian Yuan Mineral Exploration Ltd., and its primary ore body has confirmed reserves of 120 tons. The Dachang gold deposit in Qinghai Province was jointly explored by the Geological Bureau of Qinghai Province and Canada's INTER-SITIC exploration company, and has 25 confirmed gold ore bodies, with an average grade of 5.97 grams per ton, and 115 tons of proven gold resources. The Shizhuang gold deposit in Laizhou City in Shandong Province has been proven to have 51.8 tons in gold reserves.
