According to statistics from the China Light Industry Council, in 2006, the total output value of the gift industry reached about 200 billion yuan. At present, "China gifts" have a share of more than 60 percent in the global market.
According to statistics, there are currently 100,000 enterprises in China engaged in gifts and the related market. Most are private enterprises, and large enterprises have an output of over 2 billion yuan. For quite some time, the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta have been the most developed regions for China's gift industry. Beijing has many multinational corporations, social organizations, and procurement centers. With the arrival of the Olympic Games, it holds a huge potential in the global market.
