Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Tuesday morning and declined to close lower in the morning session than the previous trading day.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 36.95 points, or 0.83 percent, to close at 4,401.32 points in the morning session. Traded between the highest 4,472.15 points and the lowest 4,395.24 points, with a turnover of 73.14 billion yuan (10.4 billion US. dollars).
The Shenzhen Component Index ended down 193.82 points, or 1.2 percent, to 15,993.69 points, and the total turnover was 34.6 billion yuan.
The Hushen 300 Index, which accounts for 60 percent of the market value in China's stock market and reflects the performance of China's Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges closed at 4,743.62 points, down 0.98 percent. Source:Xinhua
