Vice Minister of Agriculture Wei Chao’an said on the 10th that, according to statistics, by November 2007, Taiwan’s total agricultural investment in the Chinese mainland reached 6.7 billion US dollars. In 2007, nearly 300 more Taiwan-funded enterprises entered China’s mainland with investments of nearly 400 million US dollars.
Wei Chao’an also said cross-strait agricultural cooperation experimental zones and Taiwan farmers Pioneering Parks were in healthy development. Currently, there are demonstration zones for cross-strait cooperation in nine provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the Chinese mainland, and Taiwan farmers Pioneering Parks in eight provinces. The layout and structure of entrepreneurs tend to be logical: Pioneer Parks and demonstration zones are in the mutually converge and assist each other. At present, the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant departments have approved the establishment of Taiwan's farmers Pioneering Park in four areas, including Zhangping, Fujian Province; and are making efforts to create space for Taiwan compatriots to invest in China’s mainland.
