Hong Kong's gross national product in the fourth quarter last year rose 14.6 percent over a year earlier to 465.3 billion HK dollars (59.8 billion U.S. dollars), according to the latest official figures.
During the period, the gross domestic product of Hong Kong is estimated at 447.2 billion HK dollars, up 11.7 percent, said the Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government.
After netting out the effect of price changes, Hong Kong's GNP rose 9.4 percent in real terms. This was higher than the corresponding increase of 6.7 percent recorded for GDP in the same quarter, said the department.
For 2007, Hong Kong's GNP grew 11.4 percent over a year earlier to 1.6749 trillion HK dollars, 62.3 billion HK dollars more than GDP. (One U.S. dollar = 7.775 HK dollars) <i>Source: Xinhua</i>
