Chinese shares opened slightly lower Monday, as concerns continued over potential risks in domestic and overseas financial markets, dealers said.
They said tightening monetary policy, unclear investment perspective and subprime risks in overseas financial market will contribute to the gloomy trading.
China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, opened at 3,941.26 points, down 21 points, or 0.54 percent.
The Shenzhen Component Index on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange opened at 13,785.46 points, 0.23 percent decline.
The Hushen 300 Index reflecting the performance of China's Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges opened at 4,138.88, also slightly lower than the previous trading day. Source:Xinhua
