The General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection revealed on the 26th that from March 27, Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. will recall parts of TEANA cars produced between April 9, 2007 and June 13, 2007 - a total of 4,945 cars - according to Xinhua Net.
The recall is due to problems in the muffler welding production process. Some cars did not have a particular type of wire bonder, resulting in corrosion-prone welding parts which crack and make an abnormal sound, and serious welding may occur. In extreme cases, the end of the muffler or main muffler may fall off, endangering other vehicles and the safety of pedestrians. Dongfeng Motor Co. Ltd. will recall vehicles within this scope to replace the main and secondary muffler, and eliminate hidden dangers.
