The first direct flight between China and Mexico will be launched on May 29, Aero Mexico's Shanghai office told Xinhua on Tuesday, a move to facilitate bilateral economic, cultural and tourism exchanges.
With the flight number AM099, the flight will take off from Shanghai every Thursday and Sunday, with a stopover in Tijuana in northwestern Mexico and reach Mexico City.
The returning flight AM098 will take off from Mexico City every Tuesday and Friday and reach Shanghai with a stopover in Tijuana.
In recent years, the number of Chinese visitors to Mexico has risen, with the Chinese tourists to Mexico increasing more than 11percent in 2006 compared with 2005, according to figures from the Mexican Embassy.
It is forecasted that there would be more than 100,000 Chinese tourists visiting Mexico in 2012. Soruce: Xinhua
