China will impose an additional 100 percent duties on exported chemical fertilizers and some raw materials from April 20 to Sept. 30, the Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.

Exporters in all regions and all kinds of trading forms are covered, it said.

The increase, the second such move in 2008, aims to ease the current fertilizer supply jitters and keep the prices stable amid soaring demand during the spring plough season.

Export tariffs on chemical fertilizers will rise to a range of 100 percent to 135 percent, the ministry said.
