Nokia China's new headquarters were completed on the 21st in Yizhuang, Beijing, marking the birth of the world's first mobile phone industry chain fully integrating research and development, management and production, as well as sales, according to Xinhua Net.
Located in Beijing's Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Nokia's new headquarters building covers 7 million square meters, and is Nokia's largest regional headquarters in the world. Apart from being the headquarters for the management of China's entire market, this environment- friendly building, wrapped in a green glass curtain wall, will also harbor the research and development of its global market business.
Nokia's new headquarters are separated by only one street from its previously-established production base. In 2002, the world-class mobile phone production group - Star Network Industrial Park – was set up in Yizhuang, Beijing. More than 20 top international phone corporations and accessory businesses, including Nokia, are connected by a one kilometer long road.
Star Network Industrial Park has now achieved advanced production modes such as zero inventory; accepting orders at sunrise; and shipping out goods at sunset, among others, making an annual output value of 100 billion yuan – equivalent to half of Beijing's electronic information industry's value.
Nokia's global senior vice president and China region president, Zhao Kelin, said in an interview that China has become Nokia's largest single market. This is why they established the world's most complete and largest mobile phone industry chain in Beijing.
