On April 21, China First Heavy Industries (CFHI) and China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation (CPTDC) jointly completed two large-scale forge welding hydrogenation reactors; and they have been shipped from port in Dalian to the India Oil Company. This is the first Chinese large-scale hydrogenation reactor to go overseas.

A hydrogenation reactor is mainly used to refine oil and process heavy oil; and is essential for the petrochemical industry. Its design and manufacturing technology was previously monopolized by a few developed countries. After independent research and development, China First Heavy Industries overcame a number of complex issues such as large-scale forging and complicated welding technology; managed to build a self-made hydrogenation reactor; and met international advanced technological standards.
