Chinese shares went down by 0.65 percent on Tuesday as regional markets declined. The downward trend was led by the retreat of the telecom sector previously buoyed by long-expected reshuffle announcements.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, closed at 3,436.40 points, down 22.65 points, or 0.65 percent from the previous close.
The Shenzhen Component Index fell 65.67 points, or 0.54 percent, to 11,991.58 points.
Combined turnover, however, expanded from 91.64 billion yuan (13.3 billion U.S. dollars) on last trading day to 98.99 billion yuan on Tuesday. Source:Xinhua
