Chinese importers of acetone will have to pay anti-dumping duties as of Monday to offset damages caused by acetone producers in Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

The move follows the final ruling made by the Ministry of Commerce which decided that acetone exports from Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan had inflicted losses on local manufacturers.

The anti-dumping duty tax rates were set from 5 percent to 51.6percent.The tax would be in effect for five years.

Acetone is an important chemical material primarily used to produce bisphenol A and serves as an organic solvent. It is widely used in the medical and paint industries.
