Hong Kong stocks widened its losses in the afternoon to close at 22,797.61 on Thursday, down 528.19 points, or 2.26 percent.
Turnover fell to 59.04 billion HK dollars (7.57 billion U.S. dollars) from Wednesday's 71.22 billion HK dollars (9.13 billion U. S. dollars).
