Housing prices rose 8.2 percent in 70 cities in June

According to research by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Bureau of Statistics, the price of housing in 70 large and medium-sized cities nationwide advanced 8.2 percent in June compared with the same period last year. The increase was 1 percent below that in May. The year-based price flattened with the previous month. The main cities which contain new housing prices that are higher compared with that of the same period of last year include Urumchi, Haikou, Ningbo, Beijing and Hangzhou. The prices rose 20.2%, 18.1%, 14.7%, 14.3% and 13.3% respectively.

The price of the newly-constructed housing rose by 9.2 percent compared with the same period last year, and the increase was .01 percent lower than in May. Among the different types of housing, the price of economically affordable housing rose by 3.2 percent, compared with the same period last year; and the year-based price rose by 0.1 percent. The price of ordinary housing and top-grade housing rose individually by 9.7 percent and by 11.1percent. And the year-based price rose individually by 0.1% and 0.2%.
