Chinese share prices opened 3.94 percent lower on Thursday to 1,916.13 points on Wall Street's biggest fall in two decades overnight.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 1,916.13 points, down 3.94 percent from the previous closing. The smaller Shenzhen Component Index opened at 6,141.73 points, down 4.13 percent.
