China's share prices opened 0.56 percent higher on Wednesday, echoing the largest overnight Wall Street rally on a U.S. presidential election day since 1984.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 1,716.22 points, up 0.56percent, or 9.52 points from the previous closing.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index opened at 5,721.52 points, up 0.93 percent, or 52.71 points.
