The six-day 7th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China, dropped its curtain in Zhuhai on the afternoon of November 9, with deals of 102 aircraft inked.
According to statistics, by 2 pm on November 9, some 600 aviation and aerospace enterprises from 35 countries and regions in the world had attended the exhibition, which boasted world's largest indoor air exhibit.
During the period, 16 projects with contracts, agreements and cooperative intensions worth US $4 billion were signed amongst exhibitors from different countries and regions, and deals on 102 airplanes of various types were stricken.
The biggest highlight of the airshow was the entry for the first time of Chinese made commercial airplanes into the US market. The US General Electric Commercial Aviation Services signed a contract with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China to purchase 25 ARJ21-700 airplanes worth US $732.4 million.
This was the first time that a developed country has made such a large-scale purchase of commercial airplanes from China, and by far is the largest Chinese airplane export contract ever signed.
