Chinese shares opened almost 1.3 percent lower on Wednesday on worries over a slowing economy and tracking the sell-off on Wall Street.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, slid 23.17 points, or 1.26 percent, to 1,820.44.
The index dropped 1.66 percent on Tuesday, ending Monday's short-lived rally boosted by the 4 trillion yuan (570 billion U.S. dollars) economic stimulus package unveiled on Sunday.
Overnight the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 176.58 points, or 1.99 percent, to 8,693.96. Source: Xinhua
