Share prices on Chinese capital markets gained 0.47 percent in the morning session on Monday, on the Wall Street's rally on the previous session and the news that Chinese investors were allowed to buy shares on credit and sell borrowed stocks from Monday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 8.87 points, or 0.47 percent, from the previous close to end the morning session at 1,880.03 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index finished at 6,717.28 points, up 58.77 points, or 0.88 percent.

Losses outnumbered gains by 728 to 119 in Shanghai, and by 639 to 83 in Shenzhen.
