China recorded 114.99 billion U.S. dollars worth of exports last month, down 2.2 percent from the same period last year, the General Administration of Customs said on Wednesday.

It was the first time since June 2001, when China's monthly exports were down slightly by 0.6 percent from a year earlier because of slump demand from the U.S. economy after the high-tech bubble burst.
