The contract for the rolling stock procurement project of Hong Kong's MTR Corporation was recently signed in Beijing.

It is the Chinese mainland's first metro car project developed for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles Company will manufacture 80 metro cars for Hong Kong's MTR Corporation, with the contract valued at HK $1.1 billion.

This marks the first time a Chinese enterprise has successfully broken into the high-end urban rail car market and is equipped with the strength to compete with world-class railway car manufacturers.
