Data recently released by the China Electricity Council (CEC) showed that from January to November, China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) consumed 3.153089 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity, an increase of 6.67% year-on-year; of which, the nationwide industrial power consumption was 2.344005 trillion kilowatt hours, an increase of 5.27% year-on-year.
According to data provided by the CEC, power plants above a designated size in China generated 3.129270 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year.
The power consumption by primary industry was 82.697 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 3.41% year-on-year; secondary industry consumed 2.375474 trillion kilowatt hours, an increase of 5.35% year-on-year; tertiary industry consumed 322.539 billion kilowatts, an increase of 10.86% year-on-year; while urban and rural residents consumed 372.379 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 12.75% year-on-year.
