Singapore's food safety body has lifted its import ban on Chinese dairy products, said China's quality watchdog on Friday.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said Singapore's Agri-food and Veterinary Authority was satisfied control measures had been put in place by Chinese authorities after its inspection team visited dairy farms, milk collection centers and food processing establishments in the country.

The ban was lifted as of Dec. 18.

The GAQSIQ said it would work closely with related authorities to facilitate the resumption of Chinese dairy product exports.

Singapore suspended import of all milk and milk products from China on 19 Sept. after tests found melamine contamination in two brands of China-made milk products.
