Chinese shares opened slightly lower on Monday tracking losses in other world's major markets on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index declining 0.8 percent to 2066.23 points.
The smaller Shenzhen index was down 1.27 percent to open at 7511.66 points.
