Agricultural prices slid 0.4 percent between May 11 and 17 from a week earlier in China across the country, according to Wednesday figures released by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
Data based on a farm produce price survey in 36 medium and large cities nationwide revealed that of the 57 main types of agricultural products, 30 saw prices decrease, 24 saw an increase and three were unchanged.
Vegetable prices fell 3.1 percent week on week due to stable market supplies, while egg prices rose 0.7 percent from a week earlier.
The wholesale price of pork, beef and mutton dipped 1.4 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, week on week, the MOC said.
Small-packaged rice prices edged up 0.2 percent week on week, while small-packaged flour prices were leveled off.
China's consumer price index (CPI), the main inflation gauge, eased 1.5 percent year-on-year in April, the third monthly fall in a row since February, partly due to the declining food prices.
Food prices account for about a third of the CPI in China.
