China UnionPay (CUP) announced that over 360,000 Automated Teller Machines (ATM) or nearly 90 percent of ATM machines in the US have opened CUP card transactions.

This implies that the CUP standard debit card and the CUP standard credit card, both starting with "62", as well as the CUP debit card with card number starting "9" have been accepted by most ATM machines in the US for withdrawal service.

Cai Jianbo, Executive Vice President of CUP, noted that withdrawal of money from ATM machines in the US via CUP cards is based on the exchange rate of USD against RMB on the same day of the withdrawal transaction. This means the holders can finish the transactions in USD while debit their accounts in RMB. It enables card holders to control the risks arising from exchange rate fluctuations.

To date, CUP cards have been accepted in 61 foreign countries and regions around the world.
