New direction set for agriculture development

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the 12th five-year plan for the quality standards of agricultural products has been defined. The ministry will basically establish a supervision system of quality standards for agricultural products, enhance regulation ability; promote standardized production level in order to ensure the quality of agricultural products step by step, and maintain a 96 percent pass rate on agricultural items at minimum.

According to the plan, by the end of the 12th five-year plan, the number of professional standard regulations will reach 10,000, pollution-free agricultural products will total 70,000, products with green food labels will reach 20,000, and organic agricultural products will total 11,000. Until then, a comprehensive case-record system for the cultivation, production and trade of agricultural goods will be established.
