The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has asked the Nepali government to have an agreement among the eight parties on the names of ambassadors to be appointed at Nepal's missions abroad, The Kathmandu Post reported on Friday.
According to the daily, the committee said that it would resumehearing on the issue only after the eight parties reach the agreement.
The committee drew the government's attention to the issue after the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) parliament members said that the government had nominated 14 ambassadors without consulting their party.
The committee Thursday also decided to summon Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan to seek clarification on the nominations in its next meeting.
According to the report, although the seven parties have set aside Australia, France, South Korea and Denmark for the CPN-M to name their ambassadorial nominees, the party have demanded that they be given at least one out of what they call as four "A" category of nations.
