Israel unilaterally arranges limited Gaza food entry |

Israel has unilaterally allowed and arranged for letting in basic food into the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, a Palestinian daily reported on Tuesday.
Salim Abu Saffeya, director of Gaza crossings security, told al- Ayyam newspaper that several Israeli companies started to send some 10 tons of wheat to Gaza Strip in coordination with Palestinian private companies.
"Two tons have entered through a small terminal near the main Karni one over the past couple of days," Abu Saffeya said.
Since Hamas took over Gaza Strip last month, Israel has sealed off all crossing points, and Palestinian workers at the terminals, who were loyal to Fatah movement, have withdrawn.
President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah sacked the Hamas-led coalition and formed an emergency government. Israel would deal with the new government which has no control in Gaza Strip.
The main Karni crossing has been completely closed since three weeks ago and there were no workers at either the Israeli or the Palestinian sides, says Abu Saffeya.
Earlier, Khalil al-Hayya, a Hamas lawmaker, said his movement was ready to arrange with Israel to reopen the crossings. Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri also said that Hamas can facilitate operations at the terminals.
For the time being, the humanitarian assistances to Gaza Strip come through Kerem Shalom crossing in southeast Gaza Strip which can afford the entry of 30 truckloads in the day, unlike Karni which has capacity for 600 trucks.
