The Israeli Prime Minister's Office has completed a list of 250 Palestinian prisoners to be released, Israel Radio reported on Tuesday. The list will be discussed by the Justice Ministry on Wednesday, and will be brought before the cabinet for approval on July 8, said the report. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert pledged last week to release the Fatah prisoners as a goodwill gesture to bolster Palestinian National Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and a Palestinian emergency government formed in West Bank in mid June. The release was scheduled to come up for a vote at the weekly Israeli cabinet meeting on Sunday, but it was delayed because the list of the prisoners had not been finalized by that point. Israel has vowed to support the emergency government sworn in by President Abbas after his Fatah movement was driven out of the Gaza Strip by Hamas on June 14. Israel also expressed its willingness to restart peace negotiations with the emergency government in the West Bank, which is rejected by Hamas-led Palestinian government in Gaza.
