The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) on Wednesday accused the United States of beefing up war preparations, urging the Washington to abandon hostile policy against it.
This accusation came after U.S. airforce F-16 fighters and hundreds of air force personnel had been deployed into South Korea from its original airbase in Italy.
"... (Such) moves are a clear indication of the U.S. sinister intention to further step up its preparations for a new war behind the scene of dialogue," said a signed commentary carried in the country's leading official newspaper Rodong Sinmun.
"The U.S. reckless military actions make the DPRK skeptical about whether the U.S. is truly willing to seek a negotiated settlement of the nuclear issue and improve the DPRK-U.S. relations," the commentary said.
The commentary also urged the United States to stop such military actions against the DPRK.
"It (The U.S.) is not standing for dialogue but for war and its call for dialogue is not to seek any solution but just to gain time to round up the war preparations," the commentary added.
