Labor Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dr. Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Kaabi left here Wednesday after completing his three-day official visit to Nepal, according to the National News Agency.

During his visit, the UAE Labor Minister signed a labor pact on granting Nepalese laborers in the UAE legal status. With the signing of the accord, the Nepalese laborers became eligible to receive the salary and benefits in par with workers of other countries as per the law while given legal recognition and protection.

The UAE is one of the most attractive destinations for millions of migrant workers from various countries, including Nepal.

An estimated 150,000 Nepalese are currently working in the Gulf state.
