Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on Wednesday condemned the terrorist attack in Yemen on Monday which killed nine persons, the Egyptian official news agency MENA reported. "Such operations aimed at destabilizing the region," Abul Gheit was quoted as saying. Voicing support for the Yemeni authorities' efforts to thwart any such attempts, Abul Gheit mourned the death of two Yemenis in the criminal attack, MENA said. Meanwhile, the Egyptian top diplomat also sent condolence to his Spanish counterpart Miguel Angel Moratinos over the death of the seven Spanish tourists in the attack, added the report. The car bomb attack took place late Monday near Belkis temple in Marib, some 190 km from the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, leaving nine dead and at least eight others injured.
The Yemeni Interior Ministry linked the attack with the al- Qaida terrorist network according to preliminary information. Source: Xinhua
