Security forces kill three PKK militants in eastern Turkey |

Turkish security forces killed three militants of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in operations staged in the eastern provinces of Bingol and Tunceli, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Thursday.
One of the militants was killed in a clash in the rural area of Bingol's Yedisu town on Wednesday, the report said, adding that one village guard lost his life in the fighting.
On the same day, other two PKK militants were killed in a clash with security forces while they were trying to plant explosives on a highway in Tunceli province.
Clashes occurred when the rebels opened fire at the security forces who called on them to surrender, Anatolia said.
The PKK was listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
Ankara blames the banned group for triggering a two-decade-long strife that has claimed more than 30,000 lives since the PKK launched an armed campaign for an ethnic homeland in the mainly Kurdish southeastern Turkey in 1984.
