Seven militants of Hamas' military wing were killed during an Israeli operation in central Gaza Strip on Thursday as the offensive was still going on, security sources said. The seven militants were killed in several air and artillery strikes on a crowd of people who gathered in al-Burij and al- Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza Strip. Israeli tanks rolled into the Palestinian territories in early hours in the morning and the first strike took place minutes after 6:00 a.m. (0400 GMT). Until the noon time, the operations were still going on.
A cameraman for Hamas' satellite channel was seriously wounded by shrapnel of a tank shell, the al-Aqsa TV reported. Meanwhile, paramedics confirmed that eight people were injured due to the strikes that took place every now and then. Some of the wounded were transported to the main hospital in Gaza City while the others received treatment in local clinics. An early report said four Palestinians, including three Hamas militants, were killed during the Israeli ground operation. In a statement sent to the press, Ezz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, an armed wing of Hamas movement, announced the death of three of its members "who were killed in direct clashes with an Israeli special force which infiltrated into the east of al-Burij refugee camp." Officials at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza Strip said a fourth man who suffered critical wounds was died without disclosing his identification.
