The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry is waiting for an Iranian investigation report into the attack on a Kuwaiti diplomat in Tehran, said Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters before his departure to Saudi Arabia's Jeddah for a meeting of GCC foreign ministers due on Thursday, Sheikh Mohammad said "friends" in Iran had been asked to investigate the incident and notify Kuwait of the findings.
The third secretary in Kuwait's Embassy in Tehran was attacked on June 19 by "Iranians" after leaving the embassy building.
Commenting on Kuwait's response to the attack, the foreign minister, who also assumes the post of deputy prime minister, said, "It (the response) was responsible and reflected the level of trust."
"The main issue with Iran is the tension resulting from UN Security Council resolutions which have not been implemented, and we have repeatedly called for their implementation," Sheikh Mohammad said, clearly in a worry of a possible regional crisis posed by Iran's nuclear projects.
