Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah said Thursday that the foreign ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will engage in "deep and detailed" talks over inter-Palestinian violence and the role the GCC can play in resolving the issue.
Speaking to reporters prior to his departure to Saudi Arabia's Jeddah for a meeting of GCC foreign ministers to be hold later the day, he said the ministers would also be discussing developments in Lebanon and Iraq, the state-run Kuwait News Agency reported.
Sheikh Mohammad, also the deputy prime minister, hoped the foreign ministers would be able to crystallize ideas discussed during Tuesday's meeting of GCC defense and foreign ministers held in Riyadh.
Thursday's foreign minister meeting, presided by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal whose country is the rotating president of the current GCC session, will focus on the GCC track, a feasibility study on establishing a GCC nuclear power facility, and GCC economic relations with regional and international blocs.
The GCC groups Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
