French President Nicolas Sarkozy's official visit to Morocco, which was initially planned for July 11, has been postponed until October 2007 at the request of Morocco, the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) reported Friday.

Nevertheless, the French president will still visit Algeria and Tunisia on July 10 and July 11 as scheduled, in a bid to reaffirm "the deep friendship" between France and these countries and promote his idea for the creation of a Mediterranean Union.
