At least 10 people were killed and more than 40 others injured in a truck bomb explosion at a popular market in a town in Salahudin province north of Baghdad on Saturday, a provincial police source said.

"A booby-trapped truck detonated at the outdoor market of the Shiite Kurd Bamerli village, near the Tuz-Khurmato town, 90 km east of Tikrit," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The attack killed at least 10 people and wounded more than 40 others, the source said, adding that the toll could rise as some nearby houses collapsed, maybe trapping some more people inside.
