Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro on Monday expressed willingness to strengthen cultural, economic and political links with Spain.

"There is a willingness on both sides to boost cultural exchange and strengthen political relationships," Maduro said at a workshop held at the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry for Spanish businessmen and diplomats.

"This meeting allows us to review outstanding issues, in order to better promote dialogue mechanisms, and respond to any problems that might occur," he added.

He called on Spain to speak out on problems and differences with Venezuela so the two sides can work on them, and hoped Spanish enterprises could invest more in the country.

Spanish ambassador Raul Morodo, representatives from the Spanish Trade and Industry Chamber in Venezuela, the Basque Center and other organizations attended the workshop.
