The Nepali Election Commission (EC) has sought help from national and international observers to observe the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections slated for November 22, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to a leading website, eKantipur.com report, the EC has, through the foreign ministry, asked the Nepal-based foreign embassies and Nepalese embassies and diplomatic missions abroad to send neutral observers to observe and monitor the CA polls so as to ensure free and fair elections acceptable to all.

"The EC has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to invite a large number of international observers to supervise the upcoming CA polls so that the CA elections would be acceptable to and recognized by both the national and international communities," an EC official was quoted by the website as saying.

The U.S.-based Carter Center is currently active in observing the different aspects of the CA polls, with the center's representatives supervising all the current election related procedures, the report said.

The EC has also said that the political parties that have been registered with the EC will be formally recognized within the month of July.
