Ivorian prime minister concludes visit to Burkina Faso LOME, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Cote d'Ivoire's Prime Minister Guillaume Soro on Monday wrapped up his visit to Burkina Faso and returned to the Ivorian capital Abidjan, ten days after his plane was attacked by a rocket in the central Ivorian city of Bouake, according to reports from the Burkinese capital Ouagadougou. "I return to Abidjan to restart my work," said Soro before he left Ouagadougou where he arrived last Thursday. Soro said it is important that he could have a sum-up with the broker, Burkinese President Blaise Compaore, 100 days before he sets up his government. "We have talked about all the aspects of the process together to leave the crisis and we have mentioned the security questions. We are totally ready to continue to get out of the crisis safely," he added. Soro noted that Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo is clear about his visit to Burkina Faso and has agreed to let him fly to Ouagadougou from Bouake. The Ivorian government and President Gbagbo will decide whether to let an international commission to investigate the failed assassination, he said. On June 29, a rocket hit the plane of Prime Minister Guillaume Soro, former rebel leader, as it touched down in Bouake, killing four aides. Cote D'Ivoire has been split into a government-controlled south and a rebel-held north since a failed coup against Gbagbo in September, 2002. A peace agreement was signed in January 2003, but deep differences still plague the nation delaying the peace process. Under the peace agreement brokered by Compaore in March, Soro was appointed prime minister in a new unity government. Source: Xinhua
