Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf Wednesday attended funeral of nine soldiers killed in Tuesday's operation against besieged militants of Islamabad-based Lal Masjid, or Red Mosque. Later, Musharraf visited Combined Military Hospital and inquired the health of soldiers wounded during the military operation at Red Mosque. He directed hospital staff to leave no stone unturned in the recovery of the soldiers. Latest figures showed that the "Operation Silence" launched on Tuesday has left a total of 10 soldiers dead and some 33 soldiers injured. It is still unknown that how many militants died inside the mosque during the over-24-hour-long operation. Security forces started the full-scale operation around 4 a.m. Tuesday (2300 GMT Monday) after a talk negotiated through religious scholars failed to convince the militants inside the mosque to surrender.
