Pakistan buries those killed in military operation |

The authorities started Wednesday night to bury bodies of those who were killed in a military operation against militants in a mosque in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, local press reports said Thursday.
The military confirmed Wednesday night that 73 bodies had been recovered from the mosque Lal Masjid.
Parents of the victims, who have been waiting to receive bodies, protested that the government did not show them faces of their sons.
The burial started late Wednesday night at a graveyard in southwestern Islamabad and it continued Thursday.
The authorities earlier carried out DNA tests of all the bodies at a police laboratory near Islamabad and also took their finger prints, the military said.
The bodies are buried temporarily in Islamabad and later the parents can shift the bodies to respective areas.
Scores of relatives of the victims were disappointed to learn that the authorities have started burial in their absence.
Most of the bodies were mutilated and several were burned and were difficult to be recognized.
The authorities said that they had made public lists of those buried.
Military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad said that some bodies were burned and could not be identified.
The army has not yet released the final figures of those killed in the operation, saying that body count is in the process.
