An American soldier was killed in bomb attack in Iraq's northern province of Nineveh, the U.S. military said on Monday.
The soldier died of wounds received from an explosion while his unit was conducting operations in the province on Sunday, a military statement said.
The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq to about 3,615 since the Iraq war broke out in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
